WHO DOESN’T LIKE TO EAT?

There is an article today on Dr. Mercola’s newsletter titled Ecosystem and Food Supply Threatened by Gross Underestimate of Toxicity of Neonicotinoid Pesticides that everyone who uses Bayer products for their pet’s parasite control like Advantage should read. The contents of these products contain the very same neonicotinoid pesticides that are killing our bees, killing our ecosystems, our birds and  amphibians. If you like to eat food, then understand that bees are responsible for pollinating the majority of our produce. In the EU they staged a large bee kill off with humans in bee suits to  show the staggering loss of these most important pollinators and medicinal food makers. The visual effect of how many bees are dying from the use of these pesticides was enough to engage the Europeans into action. The EU is now banning the use of these substances. What about the United States? What about the US indeed! Do the people in the US not  like to eat? Do they want access to important medicinal foods like bee pollen and royal jelly? Honey is the largest product that bees provide second to the  bee services of commercial  pollination.

dog as beeI couldn’t help but notice the link of these neurotoxic pesticides to  not only the onset of Parkinson’s disease in people, but thinking about Dr. Suzanne Humphries you-tube video explaining the role of neurotoxins in the origin of polio, that DDT which stays in the environment for over 50 years has actually been found too late to be responsible for so much disease and disability. I think we need to become proactive for our ecosystems here in the US and take a stand for the bees. Do we need to do a demonstration like they did for the EU? I know our pets like to eat!cat as bee

Anyone have a bee suit?

Natural Flea Control

This is a picture of a Fleabane, a plant that is used to make flea repellant for dogs. I took a picture of this plant while walking on a plant walk at the Warren Wilson College Campus in Swannanoa, NC at the Earth Day Celebration sponsored by a Women Owned Herbal Business that I purchase from frequently called Red Moon Herbs www.redmoonherbs.com.

A local herbalist, Joel Boyle at Wind Fox Herbal in local Black Mountain, NC produces a “flea killer” product that contains Fleabane as one of the components. He is one of my instructors at ASHH (Appalachia School of Herbal Holism) the longest existing herbal school in the south. Joel is also one of the alumni of ASHH whose website is www.herbsheal.com I will be teaching an Herbs for Pets certification course at ASHH this summer so if you’re interested in learning more and in the area, perhaps you can join us for a 60 hour certification course on how you too can learn to use medicines from the earth for your animals.
